Please inspect all items contained within shipment immediately upon delivery. Damaged, missing, or incorrect items must be reported to Big Tomato with 24hrs of delivery. Photographs of damaged or wrong items should be provide at time of reporting.

Some areas are not serviced daily. There are certain products that may require additional days to process prior to shipping. Unavoidable delays can be encountered. All shipping methods apply to business days, not weekends or holidays. Shipping restrictions may exist on certain items and certain areas. We may at times offer free shipping for specific shipping methods in select categories, or free shipping site wide. Hawaii and Alaska do not qualify for free shipping.
Our shipping fees are calculated by the weight, dimensions, destination, and shipping method. Big Tomato reserves the right to notify you of any additional shipping charges necessary to deliver your order. Our website attempts to estimate calculated shipping fees and sometimes may not be accurate for following non-exclusive reasons: rural delivery locations, shipment is multiple pallets, delivery location (island), etc. We will notify you immediately if additional shipping charges are required for any reason.
Where The Big Tomato Ships To
We ship domestically within the contiguous 48 states. We do not ship outside of United States.
Missing, Lost or Stolen Packages
Thebigtomato.com is not responsible for lost, stolen, or missing items.
Oversized (large orders, trays, soil, reflectors, dehumidifiers, etc.) will ship palletized by freight. Scheduled appointments are required for delivery of freight shipments. Thorough inspection of all freight shipments for damage or lost items should occur promptly upon delivery. If damaged (or missing) items are found, report findings to delivery driver. Issues should be noted on delivery receipt, and please contact us within 24 hrs. If freight bill is signed without notation of damages (or missing items), you are stating that shipment/order was received in acceptable condition. Once signed, no reimbursement of freight charges, order costs or any other charges incurred by you will be given by TheBigTomato.com.
If you are not available by phone or email to schedule delivery appointment of your order within a reasonable amount of time, the shipment will be considered refused and you will be responsible for full freight charge and applicable fees with a minimum of 20% restocking fee.
If freight delivery is refused for any reason other than shipment damaged in transit, customers are responsible for full freight charges and applicable fees going both ways and a minimum of 20% restocking fee.
If freight delivery address is changed for any reason other than shipment damaged in transit or error made by The Big Tomato, customers are responsible for full freight charges and applicable fees going both ways and a minimum of 20% restocking fee.
Shipping Methods and Transit Time
Most orders are shipped next day depending on time-of-day order is placed. Shipping could be delayed if products are temporarily out of stock.
Orders may be fulfilled directly by manufacturer or distributor to decrease shipping time. There are cases where we may ship order from multiple locations. Customers are not charged for an additional shipping fees incurred if we decided to send order in multiple packages.
Freight Deposits and Estimates
Customers are required to submit a Refundable Freight Deposit prior to receiving freight estimate. The Big Tomato will always strive to find quickest, most affordable freight option for our customers. Freight estimates are calculated and emailed to customer. To approve freight estimate, respond to freight estimate email.
Freight shipments are delivered by scheduled appointment. Customers will need to inspect delivery for damage incurred during transit. Do not accept shipment if there is any damage. If damage has occurred to your order, contact us immediately.
